Gardening with Ciscoe ( www.ciscoe.com ) Gardening - Q & A
Book, what was it?(note: last email in set)
Q:
Hi Ciscoe: I just saw your garden show on Channel 49 NW on 22 March,
and you mentioned a plant book titled Flora.
However I could not locate the title either on ABE's or Amaazon.com as there was insufficient
Information to locate a copy.
Could you provide a little mote information, such author(s) and perhaps publisher and date.
The exact title would be of great benefit in reducing the search effort.
A:
Sorry I should have given more info on these great books.
It's a set of two books called 'Flora, A Gardener's Encyclopedia'.
The Chief consultant is Sean Hogan from Cistus Nursery.
It's a Timber Press book, and covers over 20,000 plants.
It doesn't always give enough info on care, but it's about as good as any plant encyclopedia I know of.
I've had my set a few years, and I've practically warn the cover off them.
I don't know what they cost these days, but I paid about $100 for them.
Maybe you could find them used at Powell's.
